Lessons on Faith: A.T. Jones & E.J. WaggonerJones & Waggoner
We have heard many people tell how hard they found it to do right. Their Christian life was most unsatisfactory to them, being marked only by failure, and they were tempted to give up in discouragement. No wonder they get discouraged. Continual failure is enough to discourage anybody. The bravest soldier in the world would become faint-hearted if he had been defeated in every battle. Sometimes these persons will mournfully tell that they have about lost confident in themselves. Poor souls. If they would only lose confidence in themselves entirely and would put their whole trust in the One who is mighty to save, they would have a different story to tell. They would then "joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Says the apostle, "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice." Phil. 4:4. The man who doesn't rejoice in God, even though tempted and afflicted, is not fighting the good fight of faith. He is fighting the poor fight of self-confidence and defeat.

Here is clearly set forth the Laodicean condition. "Their ways have become right in their own eyes." "The message of the True Witness finds the people of God in a sad deception, yet honest in that deception." The Laodicean remedy is the only remedy for the Laodicean condition. "The only hope for the Laodiceans is a clear view of their standing before God." But how alarming the condition, when "The Spirit's voice is scarcely heard!" “You are poor, and miserable, and blind and naked, . . . and soon the word that was given concerning Eli's house will be spoken to the angels of God concerning you. Your sins, ‘shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering forever’ . . . and I saw that the Lord was whetting His sword in heaven to cut them down. Oh, that every lukewarm professor could realize the clean work that God is about to make among His professed people!” Left click title to read or right click to download. |

That which God has promised, He is “able also to perform.” He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Eph.3:20. He “is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.” Jude 24. He gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us, and He did not die in vain. Deliverance is ours. Christ was sent “to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” Is.42:7. Accordingly He cries out to the captives, “Liberty!” To them that are bound He proclaims that the prison doors are open. Is.61:1. To all the prisoners, He says, “Go forth.” Is.49:9.

Mrs. E.G. White wrote in May of 1895 that the message they were giving was the third angel’s message, but that few understood it or received it. TM, p.91. She said that the loud cry of the third angel had already begun in the revelation of the righteousness of Christ. RH, Nov. 22, 1892. She warned that men were fighting against God when they despised the men and the message they bore. TM, p.97. And by June of 1896, she wrote that the light of the loud cry had been resisted. 1SM, p.235.
Once again the Lord is drawing the attention of His people to the “most precious message” He sent through Elders Waggoner and Jones. Two of Elder Waggoner’s books, Christ And His Righteousness and The Glad Tidings, are available on this website to download or read online. Left click title to read or right click to download. |
The Loud Cry of the Third Angel: truthinjesus.orgTruthinJesus.org
The loud cry will complete the Protestant Reformation which commenced in the sixteenth century but became spiritually dead even before 1798. The great Advent Movement, from 1831 to the middle of the nineteenth
century, had also made an excellent start but became lukewarm by 1859. The 1888 “righteousness by faith” message which was sent to revive the third angel’s movement was so opposed and resisted that lukewarmness has persisted throughout the whole of the twentieth century and now into the start of the twenty first century. But at last the true gospel, revealing the true character of God, will produce a victorious remnant who will complete the Reformation. Because man fallen could not overcome Satan with his human strength, Christ came from the royal courts of heaven to help him with His human and divine strength combined. Christ knew that Adam in Eden with his superior advantages might have withstood the temptations of Satan and conquered him. He also knew that it was not possible for man out of Eden, separated from the light and love of God since the fall, to resist the temptations of Satan in his own strength. In order to bring hope to man, and save him from complete ruin, He humbled Himself to take man’s nature, that with His divine power combined with the human He might reach man where he is. He obtained for the fallen sons and daughters of Adam that strength which it is impossible for them to gain for themselves, that in His name they might overcome the temptations of Satan.

The last Three Messages To The ChurchesLast 3 Messages
True seventh-day adventism, which is the true christianity, was called into existence by God in the period 1831 to 1849 by the messages of the first, second and third angels of Revelation 14:6–12.
“By the mighty cleaver of truth, the messages of the first, second and third angels, He has separated them from the churches and from the world to bring them into sacred nearness to Himself.” — 5T 455. However by 1859 the Advent people had sunk into lukewarmness. The message of righteousness by faith was sent to revive them in 1888–1895 (Jones and Waggoner) and repeated in 1950–1962 but was twice rejected by the organization. However, God has again raised up TRUE Seventh-Day Adventist Christianity and is preparing a people world-wide for the Final Crisis. The angel of (Rev. 18:1) is described as lightening the earth with his glory. These words describe the glorious presentations of the true gospel and the message on God’s character and his ways. This book on Revelation 3 presents the progressive development of God’s end-time work by tracing down the history of the church from the period 1755 to our day and beyond. You are advised to study the book Great Controversy (by E.G. White) along with this book for a better understanding, and to pay very careful attention to Appendices A, B and C at the end of this book. May God bless you with a knowledge of truth as you read, and may the truth herein set you free for if the Son sets you free you shall be free indeed. | The Story of Jesus: E. G. WhiteFor Children & Adults
There, in that lowly shed, Jesus the Saviour was born and laid in a manger. In that rude cradle lay the Son of the Highest—He whose presence had filled the courts of Heaven with glory. Before He came to the earth, Jesus was the Commander of the angel hosts. The brightest and most exalted of the sons of the morning heralded His glory at the creation. They veiled their faces before Him as He sat upon His throne. They cast their crowns at His feet, and sang His triumphs as they beheld His greatness. Yet this glorious Being loved the poor sinner, and took upon Him the form of a servant, that He might suffer and die for us. Jesus might have remained at the Father’s side, wearing the kingly crown and the royal robe; but for our sake He chose to exchange the riches of Heaven for the poverty of earth. He chose to leave His station of high command, to leave the angels who loved Him. The adoration of the heavenly throng He chose to exchange for mockery and abuse by wicked men. From love to us, He accepted a life of hardship and a death of shame.
All this Christ did to show how much God loves us. He lived on earth to show how we may honor God by obedience to His will. He did this so that by following His example we may at last dwell with Him in His heavenly home. Left click title to read or right click to download. The Two Covenants: Dr. Elliot O. DouglinTwo Covenants
The correct understanding of the two covenants is of absolutely crucial im- portance. Those who oppose the Sabbath truth have traditionally used the two covenants in their attack. One of their main points is the dispensationalist concept of the covenants. Another crucial point is the question of the law in Galatians chapter 3.
Most Early Adventist teachers on the subject held the dispensationalist view that the Old Covenant was the one which operated before the Cross while the New Covenant started at the Cross and continues to the end. They also believed that the law in Galatians 3 was the ceremonial or ritual law of sacrifices. E. J. Waggoner was the first to teach clearly and accurately that the new covenant and the old covenant are two parallel roads that have run from the Fall and will run until the end. The covenants are conditions of the heart not dispen- sations of time. The new covenant is the everlasting covenant, the only one ever initiated and given by God. It is the ministration of righteousness. The old covenant is Satan’s counterfeit, the ministration of death, the producer of bond- age. The new covenant is faith in the promise of God. The old covenant is the promise of man to be obedient and is always initiated by man not by God. Waggoner moreover clearly proved that the law Paul meant in Galatians 3 is the moral law, the Decalogue, which must always perform its functions of describing the righteousness of God, defining sin, and, as a schoolmaster, bringing the sinner to Christ to be justified by faith and then witnessing to the fact that the righteousness received as a free gift by faith in Christ is the genuine article.
